There are a lot of web-based email service providers that you can resort to, but having an email with your very own personal domain will provide you with more credibility if you have a business, for example, not to mention that with web-based email services there are limits on the size of the attachments that you can receive or send. If you use an email service that offers support for the IMAP and POP3 email retrieval protocols, you will not have such problems and you will be able to use any program on your PC to check your email accounts, including Outlook, Thunderbird or Apple Mail. You can even set up a mailbox on your phone. The difference between the two email protocols is that with IMAP, an email message is displayed locally at your end, but remains on the mail server, whereas with POP3, the message is downloaded to your PC, unless you configure the program in such a way as to store a copy on the server.

POP3 IMAP E-mail Accounts in Semi-dedicated Hosting

You can select between the POP3 and the IMAP email protocols if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. We offer support for both of them, so you can choose what to do with your emails – to download them to your PC or to keep them on the server and to access them from different devices. The latter option will also allow different people to access the same email account – in case you’re hosting a corporate site on our servers, for instance. You can find auto-configuration files in the Email Manager section of our Hepsia Control Panel, which will allow you to set up everything automatically in an application of your preference – Thunderbird, Apple Mail or Outlook, so you will not have to configure any settings manually. If you have a mobile phone, you can add any mailbox just as easily – simply see our comprehensive tutorials for Android and iPhone.
