If you host multiple websites in the same account and one of them gets hacked, it's very likely that all of them will get hacked afterwards. There're several reasons why this may happen, the two most popular are: using really weak passwords or using older scripts with widely known weaknesses. In this way, just a single compromised website will do lots of damage to all your websites, because gaining access to one script generally allows hackers to access the whole hosting account. This is the reason why we've introduced a brand new security option called JailHost. Once activated, this option will literally lock a website within its folder, so if an attacker takes over it, the other Internet sites in the account will remain hidden. Thus they'll be shielded from further intrusion. The JailHost option does not mean that you should not keep your sites up-to-date, but it will significantly limit the damage.

JailHost in Semi-dedicated Hosting

If you have a semi-dedicated hosting account, you will be able to start JailHost with a few clicks from your Hepsia Control Panel since we have included this option in all of our semi-dedicated packages. It is not active by default simply because you might use an application which requires access to other folders within the account and JailHost may cause problems, yet you can easily secure all other Internet sites by isolating them from each other. This will be a piece of cake because in Hepsia all domains and subdomains have separate folders. In comparison, a lot of other Control Panels keep the content of multiple Internet sites in subfolders under a primary domain, so one single hacked website there means that all of them will be hacked. With Hepsia, just one site could possibly get damaged and even if this happens, we will quickly recover it via the multiple daily backup copies that we will keep, meaning that you can go ahead and update it afterwards to protect it from potential future attacks.
